About us

“Gerry and Denise Dignan bring the greatest gift to us all: the gift of discovering through song and dance who we are and what we yet may be. They invite and evoke a culture of kindness and provide the artistry that allows for new ways of being and doing.…brilliant, evocative and transformative work.”
Jean Houston, Ph.D

For 35 years, Gerry was a teacher of Spanish to children from fourth through eighth grades in the Chicago area where his classes regularly rang with children singing, clapping hands, snapping fingers, and stomping feet.

Gerry was also a member of the world-renowned Chicago Symphony Chorus, performing at Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall, and Berlin’s Concerthalle.

Gerry sings as “Uncle Gerry” for the internationally renowned Music Together Family Music & Movement Education program. Gerry & his wife, Denise, have happily sung with families at Music Together Centers across the country and abroad, from Ireland to Taiwan to Canada to Australia. Gerry & Denise have sung far and wide at conferences, seminars, and other participatory events that create connection through the power of shared Song and Dance. This would include the United Nations “Young World Leaders Conference”.

Gerry and Denise have been long-time members of the staff of the Jean Houston “Mystery School” and “Social Artistry Institute” as well as the Peggy Rubin “Evolutionary Journeys” Seminars, creating community-building moments of Song & Dance for one & all.

An avid aficionado and performer of traditional Irish songs, Gerry has been singing in Irish gathering places since 1975. For many years, they have presented the annual “Irish Night” program of stories and songs of old Ireland, inspired by the stories told to him by his Great Aunt Ellen as they sat by her fireside in her cottage in the west of Ireland many years ago. He and Denise lead summer tours to Ireland.

Gerry loves to sing World Music, Black Gospel, Folksongs, soft rock, Spanish songs, and to create moments of wonder and surprise through vocal improvisation.

Denise and Gerry have been “spiritual seekers” on a lifelong spiritual path together. Gerry has presented his original program “The Mystic Path in Song” internationally — a musical presentation which teaches in both spoken word and song about the stages of the mystic path, the deep inner journey.

Gerry has a passion for international folkdances (the uncomplicated ones!),which he is happy to teach to your community!

Gerry and Denise host regular Circles of Song & Reflection on Zoom.

He and Denise have produced two CDs: Harvest of Life and Heart’s Desire.
