Irish Songs and Soda Bread
Come enjoy traditional Irish folks songs — some quirky and humorous, others tender songs of love and devotion, and also of the experience of the Irish immigrant — leaving their homeland and coming to the United States. The songs tell the rich story of the Irish people. And traditional Irish stepdancers will be kicking up their heels as well!
Songs and Stories of Old Ireland with Gerry Dignan
“Stories & Songs from Old Ireland" -- a peek into rural life in Ireland in the early 20th century. These stories were told to me by my great-Aunt Ellen Quinn (1898-1996), who lived to be 97, and her son, Joe, who reached the mighty age of 98 himself. He was a living encyclopedia on life in the west of Ireland back in the day. Along with some of the beautiful Irish songs, it makes for an enriching visit back to the old times on the old sod. The stories are quirky, humorous, & poignant and give us an idea, through the Arts, of the world of our own Irish ancestors.
